how giants fall

Nate Schierholtz won't be playing professional baseball anytime soon.

The former Giants outfielder is suspended 80 games after testing positive for the growth hormone Ibutamoren, MLB announced on Friday.

San Francisco drafted Schierholtz in the second round of the 2003 draft.

He made his big-league debut on June 11, 2007.

Schierholtz appeared in 137 regular season games during the Giants' 2010 run to the World Series title.

Over 115 games in 2011, he hit .278 with nine home runs and 41 RBI.

The Giants traded him to Philly in July 2012 in the deal that brought Hunter Pence to San Francisco.

Schierholtz last played in 2014 with the Nationals. Against the Orange and Black in the NLDS, he went 1-for-1 with two walks.
